Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how StoryTime handles information while families use the bedtime story app.

1. Information we collect

StoryTime may collect account details you provide, such as email address and display name, plus sign-in method, session status, subscription tier, reading preferences, language choice, bookmarks, and story progress. Guest mode creates a temporary guest session. The app does not sell personal information.

2. Children and family use

StoryTime is designed for family bedtime reading. Parents or guardians should manage sign-in and premium access. We do not use behavioral advertising, public profiles, social feeds, or child profiling features.

3. How information is used

We use information to provide login, protect one active session per account, remember reading progress, show the correct free or premium access level, support language/theme settings, and keep the app reliable and secure.

4. Storage and security

Story preferences and progress can be stored locally on the device. Account and session records may be stored on secure backend systems. We use authentication tokens and session invalidation to help protect accounts, but no method of storage or transmission is completely risk-free.

5. Third-party services

StoryTime may use trusted service providers for authentication, secure hosting, database storage, text-to-speech features provided by the device platform, and payment processing if premium checkout is enabled. These providers process information only as needed to support app functionality.

6. Payments

If premium purchase is enabled, payment details are processed by the payment provider. StoryTime stores only the resulting premium access status and does not store full card or banking details.

7. Your choices

You can use Guest Mode with limited access, log out to end a session, reset local reading progress in Settings, or request account/data deletion at /data-deletion.

8. Data retention

Local preferences remain on the device until reset, cleared, or the app is uninstalled. Account/session data is retained while needed to provide the service, meet security needs, or comply with legal obligations.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as StoryTime changes. The latest version will be available at this page.
